How do I compress an image to under 100 KB?

Switch to file-size mode, type 100 into the target field, and keep the unit on KB. The compressor runs a binary search over encoder quality — and will gently reduce dimensions if you allow it — until the exported file sits just below 100 KB. The same approach works for 50 KB, 200 KB, or any other limit.

How much smaller will my images get?

For typical photographs, JPG at 80% quality usually saves 50–70% versus an unoptimised original, and converting to WebP often saves another 25–35% on top. Screenshots and flat graphics compress even harder. Files that were already optimised will shrink much less, which is normal and a sign the original was well prepared.

Will compressing ruin my photo's quality?

Not at sensible settings. JPG and WebP are lossy, so some data is discarded, but at 75–85% quality the difference is invisible at normal viewing sizes. Use the comparison slider to judge for yourself, and raise the quality if you spot artefacts in smooth skies or skin tones.

Can I compress a PNG without losing quality?

PNG is a lossless format, so quality settings do not apply the way they do to JPG. The biggest saving for a PNG photograph is converting it to JPG or WebP, which this tool does in the same step.
